Amsterdam Mobility Fund

2014
Paid parking of cars is an important policy tool in Amsterdam. By pricing parking car traffic to the city is reduced and less parking spaces are needed. The parking fees, some E160M per year, flow into the Mobility Fund. This money plus the the space gained by taking out parking spaces help built facilities for alternatives for cars in the city. Such as for cycling, walking and public transport.
Foreign cities find this model useful as well.
